MPPT: Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking

The SmartSolar RS solar charge controller is compatible with a PV array voltage range of 80 to 450 Voc. It efficiently charges 48V battery banks with a choice of 100A or 200A.

The charging settings are also fully customizable and can be configured for different battery chemistries including lead acid, lithium and more.

Setup and monitoring with VictronConnect

The SmartSolar RS charge controller offers remote control and configuration via Bluetooth via the VictronConnect app. This allows for convenient setup, management and access to clear information including battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, as well as historical data and trends.

Daisy Chain Additional Units

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with VE.Can bus ports, which facilitate communication with other SmartSolar RS and VE.Can MPPT units. These units can be easily daisy chained together using an RJ45 cable.

Once connected, all individual charge controllers synchronize their charging stages and can transmit their data via the same cable for monitoring to a GX device, such as the Cerbo GX. This setup simplifies installation and improves monitoring capabilities for multiple charge controllers.

Remote monitoring and control

If your GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal offers access to all the capabilities of your SmartSolar RS charge controllers. In addition, if your installation is connected to the GX device and the internet, the VRM provides access to the full potential of your MPPT and offers remote monitoring and management from anywhere, anytime, free of charge.

In cases where remote installations do not have an internet connection nearby, monitoring of your MPPT is still possible by connecting a GlobalLink 520. This ensures continuous monitoring even in areas without internet access.

SmartSolar Display

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a front panel display that provides important information. This display shows the battery voltage, charging current and voltages from both arrays individually, including instantaneous and total values. It also shows the unit status, including any error codes, so you can be informed at a glance about the performance of your system.

I/O Connections

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is designed with a programmable relay and offers remote temperature and voltage sensing capabilities. Its remote input can be adapted to various types of BMS including Victron smallBMS and other BMS systems that provide allow-to-charge signals. This feature increases flexibility and compatibility, and allows seamless integration with various monitoring and control systems.
