Photovoltaic panel
A photovoltaic panel is a device that directly converts sunlight into electricity using a semiconductor material, most commonly silicon. These panels are often installed on the roofs of buildings, in open fields or other areas with sufficient access to sunlight. They are a key component of solar energy systems and are used to generate electricity for a variety of applications, from homes to industrial facilities.
The term is usually used to refer to a larger, integrated array of photovoltaic modules or cells. Thus, a photovoltaic panel consists of multiple photovoltaic cells that are connected and packaged into a single unit.
