Off-grid system

An off-grid system, or in other words an island PV system, is an energy system that is not connected to the regular electricity distribution grid. This system is independent of the electricity supply from the central electricity grid. Batteries are usually part of the system.

Off-grid systems are often used in the context of photovoltaic (solar) power plants, where solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. This energy is then stored in batteries or other energy storage devices so that it is available for use when the sun is not shining, for example at night or on a cloudy day.

Off-grid systems with photovoltaic panels are often used in remote areas where the electricity grid is not available, but they can also be used as an alternative energy source for homes or other buildings without access to the grid.
