Inverter for photovoltaics
A photovoltaic inverter (also known as a solar inverter or PV inverter) is a key component of a photovoltaic system. Its main function is to convert direct current (DC), which is generated by the solar panels, into alternating current (AC), which is usable in homes and can be fed into the electricity grid. The PV inverter ensures that the power generated by the solar panels is at the correct voltage and frequency for household appliances or for the distribution grid. In addition, this inverter often includes other functions such as system power monitoring, control and over-voltage protection.
